It’s unfortunate that this is probably ammunition for the “promoted too soon” crowd, but it’s not like he didn’t have the elbow bandage etc on day one of the Basho.. 50-50 on saving face vs truly injured, it’s hard to call. Like he keeps saying, “[he’s] learning.” Guess we’ll seeeee
Hoshoryu has certainly hit the top rank: it doesn't matter what his decision is here, someone is going to be upset !
