I have surprisingly little on bonding and structure – only graphic that comes to mind is this one: www.compoundchem.com/2014/11/13/v...

An area for improvement!
Compound Interest: VSEPR & Shapes of Molecules
One for the chemistry students (and teachers!) out there today, with a look at how we can work out the shapes of some simple molecules using Valence Shell Electron Pair Repulsion (VSEPR) theory.&nb…

For shapes of molecules - whip out those moly mod kits and MWB!
build a 3D shape and draw the dot and cross each time ✅

Covalent takes much more time at A-level so I like to give it a good run on its own so we can then do retrieval of the others during

From a habit perspective - all pracs. Class size of 24 is much easier to manage when you just make a good habit even for the low hazard ones.

I’m looking for a quirky titration and we have done the lime cordial one death. Any suggestions? #chatchemistry

I would also add that I don’t actually don’t mind the A-level being 100% exam based. I just hate that it’s all after 2 years and not staggered via Jan and June papers for example. #chatchemistry

I would be curious to see some of the assessment elements of the OCR B spec, be incorporated into the OCR A (the pre reading for example). #chatchemistry

I don’t like the idea for this very reason. The AQA Biology course gives a choice of essay I believe and students don’t always pick the one that leans to their strengths. Or they do realise but it’s too late which makes things worse. #chatchemistry
