Also: taxes taken out of your paycheck for SS stop at $168,600. anything you make over that doesn’t pay that tax. But benefits are based on your best 40 quarters (10 yrs) of income. if I make $268,600 my benefit will be based on an income $100,000 above what I paid in. It’s welfare for the rich.
