My brother in law (who's just getting into magic) has a really cool Neriv deck that uses myriad tokens with double damage from Neriv! This is a big Timmy AF bomb but we play in bracket 2 and let's some pretty fun stuff happen when you have stupid creatures entering 3× and burning everyone!

Literally my favorite card in my wingspan inspired birds deck. Classic Azorious control, tuned for bracket 2. I get to run shitty cards that make my heart go "Doki Doki" when they resolve. If I got my dingus egg on the battlefield, I'm having a good time!

It's such a fun limited environment right? My wife and I went last night and we were gushing about how interesting (and a little weird for her as a newer player) stations and warp felt. Plus void is sooooo sick!

As someone who plays with new players a lot, this saddens me. "Reading the card explains the card" gets more and more ironic each set. Hot take: revert companion!!

I would also like to express the next wave of emotions that hit me when this fake account for yours offered a reach out. Delusional as it was there was a moment of "no way" in seeing "you" reply with the idea of connecting because your mind and personality would be invaluable to the community.

Look I know you're zenned out in this deckbuilding thing, but we commiting to the Yoda but a little too hard? 😆

I built my wife an Ellivere deck inspired by boggles for bracket 2-3 (boggleless boggles) and this card consistently does WORK

Ok Hank, Magic the Gathering is releasing a set around space and has space stations. My initial reaction was "Wtf Hank Green plays Magic???" And while I'm back to reality, that moment brought joy to my heart.

I'm so jealous! How did the place feel?

And thought "yea this is just the philosophy post we have on the website but reworded. That's fair, I just thought it was an interesting step in the direction of what it means to ethically engage with the format by acknowledging what the format is and what it's "soul" is first.

“Play in a way that meaningfully engages with the game while considering the shared experience of the table.” which makes it an ethical responsibility to give a shit about how what we play affects others. I don't necessarily see this being common practice in online discourse. If you read this

Thank you for giving it a read! And while the doc doesn't diverge directly from it, it even uses quotes from it to strengthen its ethos, it does highlight some of the main tensions and fail cases of pods in its "common breakdowns include" section. It also proposes my maxim in multiplayer games being

275! Congrats! You've made a great body of work and I pray there's more to come! Even as a member in the community you are a positive force in the greater commander (and this nerdy ecology we all live in)! You and your effort are seen and appreciated<3.
