My firstborn son committed to attend MSU in the fall. As an alum and proud Spartan I feel like I should be really excited... but I'm not. Am I dead inside? What is wrong with me?

Looking for some podcast recommendations to entertain me during the daily commute. NPR raises my blood pressure these days, and I'm not a Cubs/Sox fan which is all that ESPN radio is talking about in Chicago until football starts in August. What makes you laugh, smile, or think these days?

(2/2): There were two types of fans at yesterday's game: Maize and blue was cheering for Michigan.. literally everyone else was rooting for the Badgers. It was a loud crowd for Bucky, and thousands of fans from various schools recognize that they truly are scUM. It brought a smile to my face.

Two Observations from yesterday's championship game: (1/2)
1. Checking out the crowd, lots of B1G fans were representing. Who wasn't there? Rutgers, Maryland, USC, UCLA, Oregon. Not one jersey/t-shirt to be seen. They do not belong in the B1G.

Definitely positive signs for Akins. But what MSU really needed badly today was a 93-73 UofM loss to Illinois.

Crystal Ball: Who will be the starting five for MSU men's basketball on the first day of the NCAA tournament?

2. Lets stop debating a starting 5, and just start sending waves of players in ala Nolan Richardson's 40 minutes of hell. We can worry less about being 'matchup proof', play with determination, and wear down every opponent. This team is deep enough and balanced enough to make it happen.

1. Confession: I'm afraid that I'm not a MSU bball fan, but an Izzo fan. I love point guards who are an extension of the coach and crashing the boards like a football player. I was a college student when he was hired and I don't know anything else.

Yes! My brain was so programmed by years of traditional mathematics, that I was stuck thinking about ratios and proportions. That is exactly why number talks like this are SO important. Thank you for sharing.😀

I love the routine WODB, but my brain is hurting trying to figure out why a student would pick 7:49 - what were some of your favorite student responses?

Illinois! Does anyone care to do the math? I want to know how many replies it will take before we have a greater than 50% chance of representing all 50 states. It reminds me of that 'same birthday at a party' problem. No answers - but I want to learn the HOW.
