Because in most cases democracy isn't working. Governments in the vast majority of western countries represent business interests, not voters. They're more concerned with the sentiment of the market than the quality of life of their citizens. Media is complicit in this. The whole system is broken

McSweeney (and Glasman, but he's not in Gov't) is the primary cause of literally every single one of Labour's problems, and his strategy is the undisputed driver of their historically bad poll numbers. That No 10 cannot see that proves their ineptitude. They all need to go.

If the Democrats had any spine they would kick him out of the party. He's of no use to them and frequently votes with Republicans and against Dems. Sure it gives Dems on more Senate seat on paper, but they don't actually control the seat or its votes anyway, so what's the point?
