I finally decided to explain to the best of my ability the horrifying process of how to edit audio in Re-Pac 2 to someone asking in my Discord DMs.

I now pass the knowledge onto you.

Once reading this in full, you shall understand why I've been reluctant to explain this.

Here's another Re-Pac 2 audio mod.

It restores the voice filter for Spooky (and another character) from their original game.

Please note that this mod assumes you have the Pac-Family Restoration mod installed.

This new mod also integrates the hotfix for that mod.

The audio of Re-Pac 2 is not contained within the packages like Re-Pac 1's audio. They appear to all be in the StreamingAssets folder. Probing the files suggests these files are unmarked ACB / AWB archive pairs. Unfortunately, I don't know what pairs with what, because the filenames are just hashes.

MelonLoader Audio Replacement setup:
Step 1 - Install MelonLoader to Re-Pac
Step 2 - Run game once to setup MelonLoader.
Step 3 - Download AudioImportLib and AudioReplacer
Step 4 - Copy to Mods folder that MelonLoader made
Step 5 - Place .wavs and .mp3s in CustomAudio folder, inside UserData folder.

Using .emip packages:
Step 1 - "Load Package File" in UABEA.
Step 2 - Select .emip of choice.
Step 3 - Set "base folder" to "PAC-MAN WORLD Re-PAC_Data" folder"
Step 4 - Double click all sharedassets files to select them, then hit "Ok"
Step 5 - Save and exit.

In Re-Pac 1's mazes, specifically 6-4 and 6-6, where there was once Funky in the PS1 version, there's now duplicates of Inky and Clyde.

This is fixable, but since Sue was also scrubbed from Re-Pac (she appeared in the background of PS1's intro), I decided to add her as well.

No more dupes!

I never did vibe with the logo for Re-Pac 1.
Putting "Pac-Man World" all on one line always looked awkward to me.
Meanwhile, I think the logo for Re-Pac 2 looks great.
So I decided to combine color choices and design elements from Re-Pac 2's logo with the original PMW1 logo to make something better.

I have made a tutorial for decompressing Re-Pac's main data file.
Before installing the patches that I am about to upload and share, you must follow the instructions here.

The Re-Pac Family Restoration mod is nearing a first release.
However, for those of you who remember the mods I made for Pac-Man Museum+, this will NOT be as trivial to install as those.
You will need to decompress Re-Pac's data.unity3d file.
More details will be shared in the upcoming README file.

Sometime near the end of 2023, a thought popped into my head.
There existed Sega CD / Mega Drive combo units like the CDX, and the combo 32X / Mega Drive combo unit, the Sega Neptune, was considered at one point.
I thought, "what if Sega compressed the entire Tower of Power into a single console?"

This is my final project -- Man-Pac Revision 2.
It's a demonstration of what the new Ms. Pac-Man disassembly can allow one to do that hex editing can't.

For those of you who knew me from Twitter, you may remember a romhack I made called "Man-Pac".

Man-Pac is back, and thanks to the rewritten Ms. Pac-Man disassembly, he's got in-game intermissions now.

Better three years late than never.
