Yes! Like JKR literally gets no profit from a reference in a book, so why not change it? If people want the references that badly, they can search for older printings. Hell, I waited to buy a copy of RWRB (read from the library originally) because Casey changed the references.

When I saw authors like Ashley Poston, Becky Albertalli, and Casey McQuiston fight their publishers to take out/change those references in future printings after JKR showed her true colors, it gave me hope. Yet we still see references in queer/non-queer media. (Looking at you, XO, Kitty 😒)

I get so frustrated when I see new media (books, shows, movies, etc.) that reference HP. ESPECIALLY when the reference could be changed to literally any other fantasy fandom and still make sense. (1/2)

I'm reading an eARC of And They Were Roommates by Page Powars! A little under halfway through and I'm really enjoying it!

As a reader, I appreciate this! Especially when signatures are practically illegible and get separated from their books. (I typically don't stick bookplates to the books, but slot them in like a bookmark.)
