If you needed another reason to get off Windows 10, how about app launch performance--specifically for apps built with WPF

Surprisingly, running on ARM isn't a guaranteed way to ensure that everything is faster. (But, ARM-based devices do have other benefits)

Oh, bluesky won't let me put pictures in chat messages. I'll have to ask @thejoefin.com in public if he thinks this will be useful. Yes, it's based on that file we spent many hours looking at.
Room for improvement? (in the file, not this debug output-obvs)

So, I recently found some very old stickers. If you're at the #MVPSummit tomorrow and would like one, ask nicely or propose a trade ;)

If you use #XAML (for #WPF, #MAUI, #WinUI, or anything else), I've written a post for your boss.
Share it with them if you dare.

Which versions of #VisualStudio are actually in use?

From a quick sampling of data over the last 24 hours, it seems most people are good at getting onto the latest releases:

"Other" includes >50 different versions, but most are 17.13.* or 17.12.*

Who's really using #VisualStudio on an ARM device?
From a quick sampling, it's not many of you:

Last week I gave a talk at a #MAUI conference that's also relevant to anyone using #WPF #WinUI #WinDev #XAML

There's a short write-up at www.mrlacey.com/2025/03/the-...

And a longer version at www.mrlacey.com/2025/03/my-t...

If this doesn't prompt discussion that leads to change, I give up!

I saw lots of people taking pictures of slides but didn't think anyone would capture this.
UI code isn't medicine. It's not the red pill or the blue pill, it's a delicious purple mix of code and markup

Glad that between #MSTest and #VisualStudio they've now fixed the memory leak when running lots of tests that means I can now run all these in one go!
For a 7 hour test run it's nice not to set this off in the evening and have to rerun the 40% that failed due to a memory issue.
