This was a really tough category to pick for, the Indie market as we know, it didn’t really take off until midway through that decade and still took time to build up. A lot of browser and PC games, many of which appear appeared on earlier list.

In fairness, there is a whole TV series worth of material they could be a sequel offf. They based on their track record, they are likely just to pretend they didn’t exist despite being well liked.

Don't agree with the whole 'little driving' talk. Plenty of obstacles you have to watch out for, you need to make use of boost pads, rails and wall riding to get ahead of everyone else. Though personally, I wish we still had the full 3 laps on each track alongside the intermissions.

Makoto and Futaba stand out to me above the others as I feel they have the most active motivation within the story. Haru Suffers from late party member syndrome. I think they could’ve done a better job establishing her beforehand like Naoto in P4. Kashmir gets more buildup by comparison.

The Indie game scene didn’t really exist for half that time, and there’s a debate about what counts as Indie. Must they be self-published, or does it count if they’re from a small indie studio with a bigger publisher?

A number of other versions could have been included and it’s a pity they're not there. The carbon engine is supposed to be a flexible means of running legacy games from different systems so you would think it was possible? At least they did add the PAL versions with their differing English voices.

The interconnected structure offers a refreshing change of pace and plenty of variety. I wish you could play Grand Prix in the traditional format, as it’s challenging to memorise the tracks with only one lap. I’ve been practising on VS mode to improve.

I’m probably going to hold out and wait to see if the 1TB cards come back in stock. Though I am tempted by the Lexar 512GB card that, at least over here, is selling for less then the Nintendo branded 256 GB one.
