This is an old picture, but I still have my socks from the time I did a gig at Madison Square Garden. They're still in the same Ziploc bag, which I kept in my pocket.
The socks haven't changed color, which I attest to the ability of vintage Ziploc bags from the early aughts to seal in unfreshness.
