Academia is hard for everyone. But for many, for instance women, it is unnecessarily harder.

After crying "AGI!" for years, #OpenAI's next model is yet again just an incremental improvement, at the cost of ridiculous computational power. This is not the way, and all the announcements are just hype to inflate the bubble.

Surprised, delighted, and flattered that my head is used as an unmovable rock in the #MRITogether Racing Track in the gather.town space. I can't shake off the feeling that it must be a metaphor for something, and I'm not sure I want to know for what! 😂😂😂

Such an honor and a pleasure to once again be invited to the #ESR leadership meeting in Rome. Beautiful place, I wonderful organization, and incredible professionalism.

We've all laughed at the recent #GenerativeAI fails in #Academia. But this is a symptom that the publishing system is creaking and might break soon. I've written about this in a recent commentary for European Radiology. Would be happy if you checked it out!

Even PLoS ONE, a journal that takes open science very seriously, says that “submissions…must demonstrate that the new tool achieves its intended purpose [and that it] is an improvement over existing options.” The fact that it sounds so reasonable is actually what makes it scary.
