a chunk of the "Protestant and other Christian" voters are likely what Pew calls "God and Country" Christians--low to no church attendance & can't pass a quiz on doctrine and Bible content. More a political/ethnic than religious identity for them. Less religious in practice than some of the "nones."

While we recognize the largely symbolic nature of resolutions like this one, passage makes discussion of the issue an official university matter, so anyone afraid of retaliation can now claim discussion of university business passed by the Faculty Council.
