Yeah this makes perfect sense for the stock Dehners, which are synthetic on the shaft. I recently sold my old pair which sadly didn’t fit Me well. But this pair uses Wayfarer leather which I think is a different material, it’s much closer to a patent leather finish. Here they are side by side.
