Green Councillor on Norwich City Council for Sewell Ward.
Charity rowers mistaken for asylum seekers, and now children at a scout camp mistaken for immigrants.

Ministers using unashamedly inflammatory language, whipping up hatred towards migrants, is fuelling a racist atmosphere being whipped across the country.

With Sir Keir Starmer announcement that the UK will purchase 12 F-35A fighter jets and formally join NATO’s Dual Capable Aircraft (DCA) nuclear sharing mission, it means US nuclear warheads are likely to be stored on British soil once again.

Green corridors are crucial and projects like this are inspiring.

Local, regional, national and international biodiversity networks, are possible.

The latest poll for the West of England mayoral contest looks hopeful for Mary Page who is currently polling at 27%

I hope we can mirror this in the East of England for next year's first Mayoral election.

Shell profits are $24bn, and under Nigerian law, the operating company is responsible for cleaning up oil spills from its facilities, even if the spill is the result of third-party action.

My two pennies' worth on the new Macdonalds plans

"Drive-throughs such as this can encourage people to drive short distances to buy potentially unhealthy food.

This can also clog up both roads and their arteries, especially around the retail park."

I recall the Political Compass got a lot of criticism when they initially released this assessment of where British political parties ideologically sit. Now that the Labour government are bedded in, I wonder what peoples views are now?

It is not new news, but worth repeating, BAE has immense lobbying power throughout Whitehall and Downing Street.

Politics, when boiled down is influence.

The bottom line is that global insecurity evidently pays dividends.

To quote from the Tussell report

”We live in an era of ‘big government’. In fact, on October 30th after the
UK’s latest budget, the Economist wrote: “The state will swell to a size not
seen outside an emergency or war.”

Check out the size and position of BAE

In fact BAE Systems had more meetings with British prime ministers than any other private company.

'Tussell's 2024 Strategic Suppliers Report' brought this to mind, when it revealed the increased government procurement spending with Strategic
Suppliers.

I see Aerospace & Defence buck the trend

BAE Systems is evidently a good investment and shareholders must be pleased to see the government increase their investment.

It is hard to miss BAE Systems on this graph from Tussell's 2024 Strategic Suppliers Report and shareholders will be pleased BAE has a 17% increase in public sector revenue the year.

Musings on Britain's largest weapons company,
BAE Systems

Tussell's 2024 Strategic Suppliers Report gives pause for thought with regards to the UK's Government's Strategic Suppliers.

It is noteworthy that the fastest-growing was sector is Aerospace & Defence.

Beneath Antarctica there are over 400 subglacial lakes, where liquid water can exist above the lower melting point of ice under high pressure. These lakes exist total darkness, but amazingly still have ecosystems and have been described as our planet's largest wetland.

Aldo Leopold's philosophy set out values based on caring for people, for land, and for all the connections between them. He acknowledged this philosophy would have to “evolve… in the minds of a thinking community.”

This is the paradigm shift we need to build a better world 🌎
