What's the story behind your nickname? I went out for the varsity soccer team my freshman year of high school and I was not very good, but the school was so small and the team needed players so it wasn’t like I was gonna get cut. Before the start of the season I bought a pair of FUBU sneakers and would wear them to practice before changing into my cleats. Being the forgetful person I am, I ended up having to wear my sneakers during practice a bunch of times. The upperclassmen on the team used to DOG me for it because I’d be running drills and slipping around all the time. They started calling me Fubu and the nickname just stuck. Some people still call me by that nickname to this day.

What are your future travel plans? Not necessarily a well-thought out plan, but I’ve always wanted to visit Tangier in Morocco. Their customs and open air markets are right up my alley and have always fascinated me. Famous American poets/writers like Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac drew heavy inspiration from their travels and time spent in Tangier. Just imagine riding camel-back through the open desert in a kaftan with the sun setting over the horizon….sublime. I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked, dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix,Angel-headed hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connectionto the starry dynamo in the machinery of night, -Excerpt from “Howl” by Allen Ginsberg (1955)

Signs of the Times

The junk in our heads has reached critical mass, burning images behind our eyes and looping tones of cathartic prophecies in our ears. Being present and in the moment has become folly and an endless war of attrition on the soul. Just making it through another day is its own act…

The junk in our heads has reached critical mass, burning images behind our eyes and looping tones of cathartic prophecies in our ears. Being present and in the moment has become folly and an endless war of attrition on the soul. Just making it through another day is its own act of heroism. The signal fires are already lit, but no one is sure how to answer the call. The war between analog and digital has clear victors and losers on both sides, but the side that rules the future casts a shadow that swallows our intentions, ideas, and tongues.
