If Republicans make ads about an issue, it's up to Democrats to counter message, and that's a responsibility that they've been shirking in lieu of adapting a moderately Republican frame on issues. It's a losing game, Harris wasn't hurt by the ads, she was hurt by he inability to stand for something.

It's largely irrelevant for a party/politician seeking my support. I don't want political bodies to try to adjust to recent polls, I want them to stick to their principles. This idea that liberal parties exist to triangulate the people's will is new and it's stupid.
