musings on politics, culture, film & TV
Couldn’t agree more! Just wish Tom wasn’t such an asshole towards those who like different things than he does :)
January 12, 2026 at 6:38 PM
Not at all, in fact the opposite. Tom carries himself as someone who has the one and only *correct* opinion on movies and tv, is often an asshole about it, and that’s what rubs me wrong.
January 12, 2026 at 6:36 PM
I was hoping he would, why do you ask?
January 12, 2026 at 6:35 PM
Oh he’s allowed to post about whatever he wants, as are we all, he just has a way of being an asshole about it and seemingly goes out of his way to piss in other people’s Cheerios, which I find to be in poor taste.

For someone whose main opinion seems to be that people stick to their own expertise, he sure likes to spend a large majority of his time here larping as a film & tv critic lol
January 12, 2026 at 4:49 PM
You know, for someone who's all about people sticking to their relevant "expertise," you sure do engage in a lot of amateur armchair boomer media criticism on this here website 😂

Your piece today says the new release doesn’t have anything accusing Trump of wrongdoing. Do you not consider it wrongdoing for a grown man to have a love of “young, nubile girls” that he would “grab snatch” of as they walked by?

Now do alcohol 🙄

Yeah but does it reliably turn on/wake up over years of use? That's been my issue with every non Apple branded display when connected to my Mac.

If you think the large percentage of Hispanic voters in Texas are going to turn out for republicans again after this last year of ice hounding… 😬 It doesn’t really matter who it is between the Dem options, imo.
December 11, 2025 at 2:25 PM
Probably less likely so.
December 10, 2025 at 10:11 PM
Been here 15 years now. But originally from Mississippi. So I’ve been surrounded by republicans my whole life lol.

Also, Miami just elected its first Dem mayor in 30 years. Just because it’s been a while, doesn’t mean it’s not possible.

What about the 13 point swing in Tennessee recently? All it would take to flip Texas is a 7-8 point swing 🤔

Senate races get a lot more national attention than attorney general races, which tend to line up with the vote for governor imo. I know some Floridians who didn’t truly get to know DeSantis until he ran for president, despite voting for him for governor, and there was some definite wincing regret..

I wasn’t asking him not to talk about it, just not to speak for us. But you’re right, I definitely could’ve worded that better :)
December 10, 2025 at 8:04 PM
It’s not about the politics, it’s about the candidates and their talent for getting attention in a congested attention economy.
December 10, 2025 at 8:01 PM
And I’m of the opinion that by the time Nov 2026 rolls around, even Texans won’t want to vote in yet another corrupt criminal clown into office as our economy is cratering. We shall see.
