1000 miles ridden in 2025; though fewer than I usually manage, a decent tally given that, post-op, I didn’t start until the last week of April. Took advantage of a bright, still afternoon to polish off the last 20 or so, but I admit it was something of a risk to use the aptly-named Wash Lane.

It’s Gorleston 2 Lowestoft 0 at half-time in the haddock derby. Lowestoft were a cracking side when they won this league two years ago, but now they’re a shambles.

Towards the end of a longish spell in France, we stopped just north of Cavendish City and I noticed on the map a two-star (Michelin) chateau nearby. So I got the bike down and went to take a look. It is apparently a recreation of the Petit Trianon in Versailles.

St Benedict’s has been my favourite part of Norwich since 1974: hitching in with Bruce Bishop, Saturday afternoon in the Record Exchange, home with a bagful of 10p singles.
