@poorlydrawnarsenal.com Hope you are well! I was reaching out to see if you ever do bespoke pieces? It was recently my niece's 18th birthday. We go to the Arsenal Women's matches at The Emirates together, so wanted to get her something fun and special.

P.S. Love all your work!

Thank you! 🙏

I've just watched the episode of Mr. Robot where Elliot puts M&Ms in his popcorn at the cinema, and am ashamed to admit that I'd not once thought of ever doing this. To atone for such an embarrassing lack of imagination, this will be rectified at my next visit to the cinema. 🍿

I admire people who have the coordination and spacial awareness to walk around in public whilst also reading a book, that's some Olympic sport level shit right there.

When I finish The Stormlight Archive (just finished book 2), I'm gonna need some new people in my life I can talk to about it! Where do you even meet fellow book nerds these days?

The Way of Kings blew me away. The characters are extremely engaging, with arcs that display incredible humanity. The land of Roshar is beautifully rich in detail, and the plot is intriguing, with a perfect blend of political, religious and skeptical themes throughout. A true epic!

I cannot wait to review these two, The Way of Kings in particular is keeping me very busy! What's everybody else reading right now?

Just like Killing Thatcher, Say Nothing is another example of fact that reads like the most absorbing of fiction. The story of Jean McConville delicately and insightfully weaves together the narratives of some of the most influential characters during the troubles. A must read!

Percival Everett's James is an absolute masterpiece in its own right, as well as an insightful prism with which to view the original adventures of Huck Finn. A thoughtful and profound critique of slavery wrapped up in a unique and distinct retelling of Mark Twain's original story. 10/10

Faithbreaker was a thrilling read in what is the final book of The Fallen Gods trilogy, a story about love, betrayal and sacrifice, and what each of those things mean in relation to one another. I absolutely loved the characters and the world of Middren and its surrounding lands!

I thought Flowers For Algernon was a deeply profound story that explored the worth and value we see in ourselves and in others, and how that drives the way we treat those in our lives. Deeply poignant at times, I did cry at least a couple of times. 10/10

Great, thanks to the towel on my neighbour's washing line, I will now have Ringo Starr's voice stuck in my head for the rest of the day narrating everything I do!

As bleak as everything can feel at times, conversations like these genuinely give me hope. Voices like @timjacobwise.bsky.social are as essential now as they've ever been.

This isn't food for thought, it's a f*cking banquet!

So, my afternoon reading in one of my favourite cafes was briefly interrupted, delightfully so, by a rendition of Angels by Robbie Williams. Unfortunately there is some background noise as some people seemed not to appreciate it as much as I did.

Moneyland was a fascinating read, providing forensic detail on the levels of corruption in our global financial systems, and how those wanting to avoid scrutiny and the rule of law are able to obscure the details of their wealth from authorities, to the detriment of everybody else.

So today, I have finally decided that I am going to find a therapist. There are various reasons, but fundamentally it's about understanding myself in a more comprehensive way, so that I can avoid destructive behaviours and patterns of thought, and focus on living as complete a life a possible.

I was absolutely captivated by Killing Thatcher. Rory Carroll does a fantastic job of delicately weaving together the political history of Ireland with the audacious IRA plot to assassinate the British prime minister. He does so with the highest level of journalistic integrity.
