What I wonder is, how many people who are outraged by this are thinking, "Well, this is infuriating! Let them try to get just one bit more oppressive, then they'll see!"

If I convert to dollars, the local artisanal bakery has loaves from $3 to $6 and pastries from $1.50 to $3, but for reference, we have to consider that all-you-can-eat sushi is $17+

It's as simple as that: authoritarians are seen as forceful, and their proven incompetence and any number of scandals take a back seat in the public's mind. They're not bad people (depending on how much of the ultraconservative media they consume).

I'm looking forward to the day when we can convince enough WhatsApp users to migrate to Signal, Viber or whatever. Even RTS would be a step up.

We recently watched M3GAN and this just confirms that it's better, easier and almost as safe to find our kid human friends at little to no cost: FR33GANs.
