Hi, I’m Markus.

After 13 years of designing the groundbreaking IQM for cancer treatment, which now saves lives worldwide, I’m exploring new challenges in AI & app-building. Passionate about Mars, astronomy, & curiosity-driven creation. Now #buildinginpublic: sharing wins, lessons, and experiments!
I got caught up with some other tasks. But now, I'm back and ready to continue. I was thinking about using RevenueCat, but there are some other options to consider in the meantime. I recently checked out Adapty. Has anyone here tried it out before? I'd love to hear your thoughts! 😊

It's way easier for Claude AI to create an entire widget from scratch than to make small tweaks, but hey, that's just how it goes! 😉

Hi! #bluesky

Why does this keep happening? 😩 Just closed and restarted Android Studio, and now nothing is working. So frustrating. Feels like I spend more time maintaining Android Studio than actually building my app.

Testing the app on multiple Android devices—new bugs keep showing up! 🐛🔍

🛠️ Fixing issues I hadn’t noticed before.

📱 Big performance differences between devices.

Still lots to refine, but progress is progress! 🚀

Progress is slow—bugs keep popping up. 🐛🔍

🤖 Even Claude AI is struggling with one stubborn issue.

🔄 Plan: Re-implement the affected feature from scratch.

Sometimes, a fresh start is the best fix. Onward!

🌟 Weekly Recap #10 🌟

The last week was all about fixing rather than building😅:

Android Studio & Flutter update broke everything.
Notification package issues + package incompatibilities = headache.
Lesson learned: Next time, I’ll update more carefully!
Onward and upward!

So, you sit down to code, and next thing you know, you're mindlessly entering those same three commands over and over again all day long:

flutter clean → flutter pub get → flutter run 🔄

Looks like this is the true Flutter dev loop. 😅

Why does it always happen? 🤔 You spend half the day struggling with a bug, get nowhere, then the next morning—boom! Fixed in 10 minutes.

So it seems that sleep is the ultimate debugger.

🌟 Weekly Recap #9 (After a Short Break) 🌟

Glad to be back at work!

🛠️ Focused on pro features—currently the biggest challenge.
🤖 Upgraded to Cursor Pro—Sonnet 3.7 agent is a game-changer!
⏰ Implemented reminders—one step closer to a functional app. Excited to keep pushing forward!

Have you tried using Cursor with Claude 3.7 Sonnet? It's so much more fun now! You can do a lot more with fewer instructions than before. And it's even more creative when it comes to following commands. 😊

Finally back at work after a few crazy weeks! 😁🎉 Can't wait to catch up on everything I missed.
February 18, 2025 at 7:59 AM
We've returned from our Thailand trip, but we're still feeling under the weather. It seems like things don't always go as expected, but I'm looking forward to getting back to work soon!😊

My health hasn't been great since arriving in Thailand. Thankfully, I'm starting to feel better, but I know I won't fully recover until I'm back home. After a quick trip to Koh Tao, we're now enjoying our time on Koh Phangan. We still think this is the best place to be. 🌴
February 3, 2025 at 7:49 AM
So excited to be on Koh Samui finally! Unfortunately, things aren't going as planned. It seems like I've caught something and now I'm dealing with a fever that I need to recover from.
January 29, 2025 at 4:41 AM
I arrived in Bangkok yesterday, so I must have chosen the right day. There are lots of nice people, but there is hardly any breathable air. I will be happy when I travel on to Koh Samui soon. I hope I can find the necessary inspiration to do some coding there.
January 26, 2025 at 6:08 AM
I'll be heading to Thailand🌴 for a couple of weeks to recharge and for coding, of course. Do you have some recommendations on places to check out, specifically where the #BuildInPublic community is buzzing?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!😊

🌟 Weekly Recap #8 🌟

New app ideas sparked (engineer + astronomer brain at work), but first things first:

🧩 Exploring paywall integration for pro features—next big milestone.

🤖 Cursor AI is amazing, but crafting detailed prompts remains a bottleneck. Talking to it would be better.🚀

It would be nice if there was a direct way to talk to Claude AI in cursor, the amount of typing required to write the many detailed prompts is quite high.

After conducting some research, I have decided to implement this future-proof approach:

1. Start with local storage using Hive
2. Use proper state management (Provider/Riverpod)
3. Add remote storage later when needed (Supabase/Firebase)
4. Implement offline-first architecture

🌟 Weekly Recap #7 🌟

I made steady progress on my app’s core features:

- 📱 Tested the app on two Android phones—it’s exciting to see it live and working now!

- 🤖 Switching between Claude and ChatGPT for coding support, depending on daily limits.

Excited to keep building!🚀

🌟 Weekly Recap #6 🌟

The core functionality of my app started taking shape!

🚀 Progress is steady, thanks to MS Copilot.
🛠️ Android Studio runs slower on my old notebooks, but it lets me code on the go.
Excited to dive deeper now that I can dedicate more time. Let’s make 2025 count!

I must say that coding can be quite addictive, especially with AI. It also helps improve precision, logical thinking, and formulation skills simultaneously.
