Clearly, he never had to memorize Exodus 20:14 in Sunday School…😬

She’s a delight. I too have a selfie with her and she signed my “Far Side” comic about her.

As good as this is, and it’s very good, may I humbly suggest that Phoebe Bridgers’ cover is even better.

Going through some “attic inventory” (sh*t we’ve been storing away for years) and organizing tubs of DVDs and Blu-rays. I told my kids that it felt good collecting these little treasure and the sense of ownership, I had a tangible connection to this artifact that could be found later by someone

Welcome, saint. Welcome, Auntie. Welcome, Beth. We’re glad you’re here. It’s a nice breath of fresh air and respite. At least it is for the moment.

I understand the reasoning, but given the context of its popularity with our current state of affairs, it seems like the right way to protest.

This remains one of the best books I’ve read on this general topic. As a fellow lover of history (and someone who owns and has read your books), I commend it to you.

Provide UBI, create safe neighborhoods where folks can enjoy playing outside, and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD ban f*cking assault rifles!

But yes, maybe in four years, kids will start turning in their civics homework on time and everything wrong will be made right. 🫤

Not fund them, ban books, pay the largest union of workers like $#¡+, out ridiculous benchmarks up, place ALL the blame on teachers with no resource dealing with impoverished and traumatized kids. Fix the system: fund mental healthcare, feed kids and families, provide universal healthcare, 3/2

And education has a long history of American social issues (uninformed citizenry) being laid at its feet as blame. Asking teachers and kids to fix the ills of America while simultaneously treating both groups like garbage gets you what you’ve got. You can’t put all the blame on schools and then 2/2+

As a high school teacher, one with a degree in history, I agree on principle. Having been in education for 15 years, I can tell you civics is one of the least emphasized content areas. No one cares anymore. And with our state of civics being what it is, who can blame them? 1/2

You deserve Andúril, one reforged from the shards of Narsil.

Yes, sadly this is true. The American narrative of its own history is a deeply flawed version. We are critical of those who have their own preferred narratives when our own narrative is woefully incomplete.
