A4) was reminded of a silly assessment idea over this Winter Break and will use it later this year. Cut assessment challenges into strips, have students get them from areas around the room…but not with their hands. Dab some Vaseline in their noses to “carry” them back with. No hands allowed! #tlap

A3) my first year teaching I compared something in a lesson to going on a ride at Disneyland. Soooo many blank stares came back my way. I didn’t realize the vast majority had never left the small school town, much less been to Disneyland. 🤦🏽‍♂️ #tlap

A2) I’m CONSTANTLY reminding them to refrain from commenting, “This is easy.” I’ll even remind them that it might not be easy for everyone and how saying that can hurt feelings and make others feel less than. Trying to adopt a much more empathetic perspective. #tlap
