Needs more beeps and bops for an international call. 📟

I don't know if it's possible to anchor such a show in a way today? I feel like they either have to really push the Sci Fi levels of the show up by making Earth less like ours and more pre-Utopia, or they're better off trying a new premise rather than continuing the old series in today's era.

How do you write a show like Stargate with a President like Trump or a head of the military like Hegseth? In the show the 'Tauri' were generally seen as competent, generous, and helpful. Sure there was ups and downs, there were bad actors, but how would you even begin to write that show today?

I know the world has never been black and white, it's always been varying shades of gray, but it's definitely tilted away from the hope & peace to the more cynical and conflict driven side of the spectrum.

Imagine a Stargate show today with Russia as an international partner.

Or a competent US Gov

But it slowly became an operation that had a lot of oversight over things. The mission to Atlantis was an international cooperative, and I don't quite remember the political picture painted in SGU but I feel like it was still one of global cooperation.

Picture that today.

Over the decade plus that SG1, SGA, and SGU came out, the world was more... hopeful? In the universe of the world, the governments of the world came together upon learning of the existence of life on other planets (and galaxies!) and formed a cooperative. There was issues, and it built up slowly.

Winter Soldier, Civil War, Guardians of the Galaxy -- Some of the best Marvel films have been inspired by more recent comics, so I'm pretty hopeful about Supergirl.

James Gunn definitely has a feel for the pulse of the comics, and an eye for stories or concepts that will translate well.

Maybe zoom it out to month to give people choices, then you can read it like a Tarot reading. "This movie signifies..."

Video game, Steam or PS5.

Content equivalent to an R rated movie.

That's crazy that they were almost sunk at the time of the game awards. I assume they had to pay for that trailer placement, that's a wildly successful calculated risk.

This explains so much.

It's funny because both romance options are well written, but both are ethically problematic from a 'workplace romance' perspective!

I do wonder if that will come back to bite them in future chapters, or if it's 'not that kind of movie' so to speak.

I was legitimately torn at the big choice.
