However, I was stunned when I went to the grocery store this morning and saw this: donation purchased at my local Price Chopper. Good on you, Price Chopper. We need more leaders who have “been there” that understand how this feels.

I am a VERY amateur beekeeper so this is a big thing! A Successfully merged a captured swarm and a house “cut out”. Will check for brood and eggs later this week when time allows. Also going to start feeding this hive as stores are rather low. I’ve learned more biology from bugs than books!!!

The swarm I rescued from a friend’s tree last Thursday is thriving in its new hive in my backyard. They are all over the Japanese Knotweed and Burdock flowers on my hillside. Definitely have the queen as once I grabbed the first couple of handfuls off the tree they marched right into the nuc box.
