Recently I've been experimenting with a new type of booklet for students in KS3. Unlike my GCSE booklets, students don't write in these and instead use an exercise book for their class work. These booklets are also less task-based, consisting mainly of a story to be read and discussed in class.

I'm lucky enough to get a two week half-term. Week 1 was spent on a family holiday to Denmark (much Lego was had) and Week 2 was spent on this - an attempt to define how we teach in our History dept.

I gave our #BHM assembly today and talked about #reclaimingnarratives used Michael Holding's memorable speech in which he reminded us of Lewis Latimer's invention of the carbon light filament. Then went on to list many other unheralded Black inventors.
