Fun fact, this F body was sold at the same time as the Camaro Z28, but only one was penned by Guigiaro

All of the later SLR have great metering and often great AF but are cheap.

I’ll go with my Nikon N8008s. It’s early AF is kind of slow, but if you find the J screen (microprism), it’s an FE2 with spot metering and MD ANd you can see the VF with glasses. Also bar graph metering all for super cheap

The next project: a Technics SL-BD22 turntable that came from Ashley’s uncle’s house.

Lots of elbow grease scrubbed away years of nicotine and dust and a belt that had turned to glue.

Put on a new belt and it’s running, but with flutter and a gummy queuing mechanism. Time for some grease.

Tough to say. There is lots of stuff I wanted, but my strongest memory is dad with a Nikkormat FTn and 50mm f2 so my black Nikkormat is an ode to that.

Now lenses…. I have the Nikkor 50/1.2 which really covers my wants. That and the F4: always wanted one of those and the 300/2.8 is neat 😎

Isn’t it so cool?

We are blessed with darkish skies so the show in 2024 netted me some really great photos.

The 100mm Tessar on my Fujica G690BL is quite nice. Also the 100/2.8 on the Mamiya Press but I can choose 6x7 or 6x9 backs and I’ll say 6x7 feels more like a short Tele.

I thought 15.5 min for Gradual ST20 was long. I do like Kentmere 400, but dang it need like HC Dilution B if you want to develop in quickly.

Looks good in ST20 though.

Wow! The Aurora Borealis really picked up here on Buhl, ID to the point where it’s visible to the eye even with town lights.

The one roll I shot ended up developed really thin as there was no Hc110 time so I had to guess.

I’d like to try it with FX-39 developer

It’s basically like a mix of a Diana and a Holga but made with superior Eastern European craftsmanship 🤣

Also has a curved film plane that gets more in focus.

The older I get, the less I care about stupid arguments. I just want to take fun photos.

I love my silly Polish Ami66 because it looks like a camera drawn by Andy Warhol. But also, it’s great for camera walks because it’s rarer in the US than most things people bring and always gets the attention.

Timmy on @harmanphoto.co.uk (OG) Phoenix 200 film. I’m glad I got a few rolls because I dig the experimental nature of it. Kind of like a fresh expired film.

Had to take a little side diversion when we visited Mason at Caltech to try and recreate a photo from December 1996 with an Olympus XA.

The Canon QL17 GII is 40mm vs 35mm, but I got basically the same photo 29 years later on the same-ish film Fuji 400 vs Fuji Superia 400 🪦
