Former biologist. Writer of odd fiction he hopes you’ll someday be able to read. I mostly just read on here.
Seems to me there are roughly three loci of power Democrats/those opposing MAGA sort into:

1. Elected members of the federal legislature and their leaders.

2. Blue state governments.

3. Civil society leaders, pundits, and donors.

Look, maybe theres some fancy 5D chess maneuvering and I’m just a simple dum dum for taking the straightforward read, but I find it infuriating that some of our most prominent posters want you to think there’s no difference between the people who voted yes and who voted no.

You know… I in no way think this is some 5D chess move. But… I do wonder if there is an opportunity in this.

I was just complaining that people obviously want to rerun the dump Biden move without a Biden to dump.

I feel like someone just raised his hand to volunteer for the role.

So I see that because it was so much fun and worked out so well in the end, we’ve decided, as a society to repeat the July 2024 strategy.

A lot of things about social media are killing the world, but I think maybe context collapse is high on the list.

Code switching just becomes impossible. Sometimes a different approach works for different people, but noooo everything has to be FOR ME at ALL TIMES or I have been BETRAYED!

A lot of people who have been very fortunate to achieve success in their personal endeavors find it extraordinarily difficult to hold the thought that someone might give something their all and fail.

It is vastly more comforting to think, “Unlike me, they didn’t try.”

I realize no one is going to see this. I don’t really post here by design, so have made no attempt to build a following. That will stay true.

But I’m begging some of you to think just a little bit about what I like to think of as the sound you hear from next door:
