So if you use the solar you produce during the day and don't sell it back to the grid its costing you 40p not quite the 0p you are talking about. And more expensive than buying it from the grid at 26p odd.

That's great information but no the full story, the upfront cost is like paying up front for 10-13 years electricity, takes ages to pay back and you will probably need to replace the batteries after 5-6 years use and the inverter unit after about 10 years.
So not quite the whole story here.
