I'm on the other side of it now.

But focusing on my little dude, trying to put good stuff out into the world, do stuff I enjoy, while not letting the black dog get too close is the only thing I can do now.

Nothing I enjoy more than sharing fringe knowledge about my hyperfixations.

@lincodega.com The great thing about LitRPG is that you can say 'I want a story about an isekai'd roomba' and there is one. So pick a topic or class you really like, then go search on Amazon. Orrrr post in one of the Facebook groups, and people will THROW recommendations at you haha

@lincodega.com There are heaps of other subgenres you might want to look at... Time Loop stories feel like roguelikes. Roguelike LitRPGs are their own thing too. Discount Dan's Backrooms Bargains by James Hunter is one I'm recently really enjoying. Deep levels = crazier, stronger monsters.

@lincodega.com when it comes to gamey structure though... Dungeon Crawler Carl comes to mind. Each book (except for the first) is a single floor of the dungeon, with its own internal story, as part of the overarching narrative. Book 1 = two floors.

@lincodega.com Experimental structures are not popular in LitRPG. So they're few and far between. However... perhaps The Wandering Inn might suit? It's currently the longest fantasy series ever written, has a system as part of it, but it's an extremely wide-ranging epic fantasy.
