The crust-mantle interface was detected on the #moon using seismic data from the Apollo surface experiments package in the early 1970s. Later in 2021, the #insight mission detected the crust-mantle interface on #mars.

Mural of the Croatian scientist Andrija Mohorovičić in the city of #osijek where he once taught. He is best known for his discovery of the crust-mantle interface using seismic data from a 1909 earthquake. This interface is now known as the Moho, as no one can pronounce or properly spell his name.
