Interesting! However, I still think there is a point in a distinction between the two as they are two different skills (although neither superior to the other).

Hard agree! They are both awesome way to consume a story. What I'd add is it's important to practise both, especially in a school, as being able to take in information in both audio and written form are important skills.

I respectfully disagree. It's listening, which can be just as valuable a way of obtaining information, however reading comprehension skills and listening comprehension skills are two different things. Kids especially need to practise both!
