I spent half the day working in the yard - updating flower beds, planting new things, cutting back encroaching grass and clover. Everything is a big mess, but I got to snap these blooms at sunset.

I planted moss in my garden.

Kicking it off with Shinji knocking a plant off the windowsill. This was part of a collaboration for stamp washi tape, cats doing mischievous things - each stamp by different artists.

Looking at my flower garden... Why have I never considered to specialize in foliage a little more? I love flowers and I care for them meticulously. This learning would transfer well into a personal project.
Large pink dahlia flower blooms, layered like a firework of sunset colors. There is a lot of foliage growing out - first you see colchicum, or autumn crocus, just purple cups sticking right out of the ground on a 4-5 inch yellowish sturdy stem with no leaves. Behind it a blue-green leaved, mintlike monarda with a similar purple hue of flowers, with the about five mature inflorescences. A lot of bright green calendula leaves are visible nearby, and a more fuchsia monarda is partially in the shot. There's a strawberry leaf in the middle as well. There is no right or wrong way to grieve; let your anger, your sadness, your numbness flow and feel it all. Whether you're frozen in fear, drowning in tears, boiling in anger, or bursting with a powerful mix you can't even describe - your emotions are valid. They deserve to be felt and they deserve to be named. They are your allies, no matter how awful, impossible, unbearable it might feel in the moment: they are here to communicate something. They might say that whatever is happening in the world does not align with your values, sense of justice, your integrity. But first and foremost, it's essential to allow them to happen - suppressing your emotions leads to worse outcomes over time. Grief never goes away, but eventually it will transform into something else, like sadness - a constant reminder of what we were attached to, and lost. There is no right or wrong timeline here either - your journey might take one day or a lifetime. There's no reason to feel wrong if your resilience pushes you back on track quickly, or if your sensitivity keeps a grip on you for much longer - you are valid, and they are both beautiful and strong in their own way, as is your journey and every coping strategy in between. Just please, try to breathe (here is a breathing technique https://www.healthline.com/health/box-breathing), feel, live - for yourself, for me, for the future. I am thinking of each and every person affected by this difficult time and there is endless space in my heart for you. Please, remember to breathe. Once you process the situation, once your nervous system kicks back into parasympathetic mode, once the rawness of emotion dulls out a bit, it will be time for positive action, now more than ever. But before that happens, I am sending you all my strength, my love, my thoughts, my support - please, feel your feelings! I believe in each and every one of you!
