I still think we too much ignore our home grown authoritarian movements from the Jim Crow era, specifically the white evangelical influence coupled with a modern surveillance state. Throw in a dash of Hungarian Orbanism for spice.

I’ve voted D for POTUS in every election since 1980. I will not be voting for POTUS in ‘28. Neither MAGA nor the left are serious about governing. MAGA are fascist fools and the left, as usual, just fools(with a disguised authoritarian streak). I’ll limit my vote to my D governor in PA. Good luck.

Cynical and defeatist…yes, you’re right. Last year’s election broke me. I will never look at my country the same way again. We proudly chose corrupt despotism and with the vote(maybe)in Congress this week on the Epstein files we may choose something unfathomable. Nevertheless, I wish you well.

Nah..if we had stayed with mama there would have been no Civil War due to chattel slavery, we wouldn’t be awash in gun violence and we’d have national health insurance. Not to mention Trump. I’d say the founders experiment kind of failed? A representative republic that we couldn’t keep.

No. Perhaps you should read the “about us” part of the DSA website? FDR was a capitalist through and through. The economic systems of the social democracies of Europe are capitalist. DSA wants to replace capitalism. Not my words, their words. Social democracy is not democratic socialism.

I was a door knocker for Lamb in his Congressional races. He is solid here in western PA. He knows how to talk to the red cap blue collar types and knows how to counter and beat the MAGA bs pols. Plus as 1/6 proved he’ll literally throw a punch if need be. Marines are know for their square jaws.
