Some years ago I became hyperfixated on Japanese woodworking thanks largely to this book by Toshio Odate. I made a toolbox out of hemlock and alder. based on the design in the drawings. Lots of new stuff for me! A live edge feature, compound angle cuts, ship lap joinery, and clenched nails!

I’m only just recently getting into the Nintendo DS, and there are so many games I haven’t tried yet because our house is SO HOOKED ON BOOKWORM. (Or “Womrdle” as we haven begun calling it).

PS: I’m learning from a video by a nice bald man, Dave Liebman, who talks so romantically about saxophone, it’s wonderful. If interested, I highly recommend “developing a personal saxophone sound”

This lifelong learner just today played a 2nd overtone on the sax for the first time! It’s not pretty music, but an important technical step toward fancy altissimo stuff!

Treat check, homemade sweet potato pie. I’ve got a couple more days of “low residue” diet and I’m struggling with cravings for chunky peanut butter, salads, and chocolate with almonds. This pie is tasty, the custard wonderfully smooth, but what I really want is to crunch on granola 🐿️
