Yup. I spent my entire teen years on fb and the other ones but as soon as I saw what was happening I nope’d the fuck out of there. I downloaded a few pics, I’m not a very nostalgic person so I don’t need an archive of my time there. I just can’t ignore the reality and enjoy them anymore. Feels wrong

I love it. Other platforms felt way too…. Public and personal. I don’t mind farting loudly in front of strangers but feel a bit differently in front of my high school English teacher and different people I worked with throughout the years. Everyone’s farting here though, it’s comforting

I don’t use it for work, thankfully, and I understand that some people do. And not everyone shares my paranoia about the overwhelming level of surveillance becoming a safety concern. My loved ones have my #. I don’t need to be accessible to the masses the way I was on other platforms.

The repercussions of speaking my mind on a public platform where they have eyes everywhere. Like if I say “fuck trump” on fb am I suddenly on a list? Chances are I already am on one for that, but now they’re really looking at it. It’s spooky. It like eyes are on the other side of the screen

I deactivated all meta accounts, x, and TikTok. My reasoning is that by removing myself, I’m removing a link the sites have to me. IMO, free speech on those sites will be completely gone within a month. I don’t want to be privy to whatever cyber censorship is to come on those sites and worry about

3) it takes some adjusting to not listen with a modernist mindset. But once I got past that I’m throughly enjoying it, except the occasional cringe from the whole Morgaine/Arthur relationship.
