One example of an Arab Christian is the Nestorian physician and translator Yūḥannā/Yaḥyā ibn Māsawayh in 9th-century Baghdad. He is usually referred to as Yūḥannā in the sources, but here is an exception in the biographical encyclopaedia of physicians by Ibn Abī Uṣaybiʿah from the 13th century:

Yaḥyā is simply the Arabic-Islamic name for the Israelite prophet known in Christianity as John the Baptist and in Judaism as יוֹחָנָן Yoḥānān.
