I saw three herons in a city park in rapid succession. It feels like they must be the punchline to a joke about how many herons does it take to change a lightbulb. Or maybe the start of one? An egret, a green heron, and a black crowned night heron wade into a pool and... #birding #heronpalooza

The fire is out. The forest is saved, though diminished. Trees spread their branches, calling to the rain.

My local park went from so much rain it overflowed onto paths to a drought and a brush fire. Wish I could magic the flames away by trapping their reflection in a bowl of water. The firefighters are doing the best they can, but sirens and smoke are still creeping in under the windowsill.
