I wasn't saying they would over the 60 Minutes piece, yet Sinclair isn't airing Kimmel. I suspect they fear intimidation. The point is the FCC will now decide what stations can hold licenses depending upon whether or not they air content in "the public interest", based upon their own definition.

They can revoke licenses if they determine content is not "in the public interest", a rather vague stipulation that is under review.

Disney shareholders were suffering from the boycott and thus holding corporate liable for breach of their fiduciary responsibilities if Kimmel wasn't brought back. Free speech became rather moot. But the FCC has power to revoke licenses if they deem a station is not serving "the public interest".

It reminds me there is a herd of about 200 wild horses near me (Four Corners) in Disappointment Valley. It is magnificent to behold. All horses should be free to run, not stabled and confined.
