The fair thing to do is scrap it and lower the threshold at which you can get the benefit. To make it cost neutral. So those who need it will get it. The only problem is those over 30k a year would very likely lose it, and Labour would likely lose their votes.

I do agree with this to some extent. But Starmer appears to be waiting to see what actually happens before taking action. I think he's a, cool customer.
