This is why I get frustrated using LLMs for math prompts. They mimic rather than truly understand. It's fine for simple tasks but often falls apart when the problem gets even slightly complex.

Agree. Also, surprisingly little is said about how assessment choices shape tool use. Most AI issues stem not from the tools but from an over-reliance in certain fields on essays as the default assessment method.

The main drawback, particularly in the UK, is obtaining approval for such an assessment structure from various university committees. Perhaps it’s just my experience, but I’ve encountered institutions that are slow when it comes to understanding new technologies and embracing innovative solutions.

This is exactly what I plan to do in one of my courses. The selection can even be pseudorandom in my view. You can announce that M out of N best essays will be picked. Using LLM more likely you will be on the top 5% of essays for most of core/intermediate topics.
