Had a great week doing thesis edits in pubs and bars around London! And yes, I giggled at the last picture because I have the humour of a 12 year old.

Had an absolutely fantastic time at Belfast Pride with the team at @cara-friend.bsky.social !

This was a black and white slide but apparently my ambient homosexuality was enough to make the projector gay.

Had a great time presenting in the @ssnci.bsky.social conference! Aberdeen, as a city, is often taken for granite in my opinion.

Found out my building manager won't fix the crack in my ceiling, unexpectedly didn't get paid my PhD stipend, and I spilled coffee down myself... all within fifteen minutes of each other.

With that, my organising stint for the QUB History Seminar Series is at its end! Had some amazing speakers over the last two years, and the wine wasn’t bad either! Thank you so much to @conorbrockbank.bsky.social for my gift, and for taking over the seminar series from me! 💖

Every time I see this it locks that sentence into my head for a good 2-3 weeks. Sorry to my partner who now has to listen to me washing the dishes saying ‘Give orange me give eat orange’ on repeat.

Used some of my favourite primary sources for teaching about the gay rights movement and the U.S. black civil rights movement today: in 1971, a group of gay rights activist groups joined together to picket the 'Lost and Found' gay bar in Washington, D. C. for refusing service to non-white people.

An amazing seminar on British humanitarianism and the racial politics of charity in Southern Africa by Matthew Hilton (QMUL), chaired by @kconnel.bsky.social that introduced me to a new inclusion to my terrible-movies-to-watch list!

An excellent seminar on prisons, race and fascism by @liamliburd.bsky.social - thanks to @kconnel.bsky.social for chairing!

Great seminar yesterday! Niall Herron’s research not only challenges the idea of a non-sectarian gay community in Northern Ireland but highlights how the ways in which the myths was intentionally maintained in the 1970s and 1980s.
