I do theatre and things in Michiana. That is, around South Bend and Mishawaka.
Cars depreciate, so keeping what you have and waiting to replace it as long as you're able is almost always the most affordable option.

If you want an electric car but this month isn't right for you, don't rush it. In a couple years there will likely be lots of used EVs for good prices—cars that people are getting leases on right now from manufacturers and dealers rushing to get their cars out the door while the tax credit's around.

If you need the car for road trips and decide you need faster charging on the road, there are faster-charging, more recent used EVs going for around $20K or less.

Lots of used electric cars are on sale for around $10K after the savings from the tax credit. Dealers usually advertise the price with the tax credit applied. We got our 2017 Bolt for less than that, and its battery is still under warranty for 5 more years.

If you can charge at work or at home—if there's an outlet where your car sits parked—then electric cars are better cars. They can accelerate faster and drive more smoothly, they need less maintenance, and they cost less to drive (on our home electric bill, we pay the equivalent of about $1/gallon).

Watch Ponyboi for a great fiction film and Every Body for a great documentary! There's a lot to learn, and this documentary is a good watch.

Learned about it because one of the three featured people is River Gallo. I just watched River in "Ponyboi", the first feature film starring and written by an openly intersex person. It was a fantastic film, a great balance of action/suspense and substance.

Also, gas stations feel like insanity (and my god the COMMERCIALS) when I can just plug in our EV in our driveway.
