But you learn to cope. You learn to, because at the end of the day, all you want is for that person to be happy, whether that involves you or not. You watch them move forward, you watch them be far stronger than you are, and you're proud, of course you are, but it also hurts a hell of a lot.

It's always the fear that keeps you from saying something, too. The fear of losing someone that's so important to you. All the self-doubt is what chokes you, what keeps you from being brave enough to ever say anything. Because why *would* they return your feelings? They wouldn't, and they don't.
