A musical project I'm part of got together to jam a couple weeks ago and I recorded it, it's a bit #folk and a bit weird (there's a Bloodhound Gang cover in there), we had fun, might play a show eventually! Features banjo, guitar, violin/viola, and vocals.

Saw these two trilliums were growing right next to each other yesterday. Cool to see ends of the color spectrum represented (they start out white).

Weird for "grunge" be on the cusp of a revival, except that it's filtered through 3 decades. Young bands describing themselves as grunge, when it's just alt rock.
Grunge fashion, but it's more like a cross between goth/punk styles.
No shade, cool to see, just weird from my vantage point.

I did the thing. Swapped my banjo head from the OG white to a black one. Took a while, learned stuff (Washburn B8K-A seems to take an 11" medium crown head, FYI, but my high crown worked). Tone seems more mellow, less sharp. I like it. I think I set the intonation better too.

Things I wasn't expecting today: to have a fishmonger knock on my door and see if I was interested in buying fish.
He was driving through the neighborhood, I guess he delivers fish, showed up while I was making lunch.
I did not buy fish.

Just got a ticket to see The Koffin Kats and The Last Gang at one of my favorite venues in town, a place where I myself perform music! We don't often get big names (shut up, they're big to me) there, should be an excellent show!

Experienced at queeraoke recently... heard Regulators by Warren G come on, except... this isn't Regulators? Didn't know it sampled a Michael McDonald song I've never heard.
Then heard a Def Leppard song with 1/2 harsh guttural vocals and I was THERE for it! Might recruit her for a band.

Kiddo got a motorized hamster recently, came to me yesterday saying she wanted a maze for the hamster. Got out the glue gun and craft knife, and made a small one to test out ideas before we take the plunge into making a larger one (maze layout specified by the kiddo).

Playing with a child, instructions were "make something silly". My creation was deemed to be in accordance with specifications. I think it wants a hug, or perhaps your sanity?

Good news, everyone! While I ended up cancelling the show I was putting together for mid-December, I got an unexpected invite for the band to play in a local record shop (Lantern Records) Friday of next week 🤘
