When I was taking Mechanical Engineering in Calgary, a bunch of us got together to guesstimate what a weather dome w/ transport, over the city, cost in comparison to car structure. Inclusive of all public and private costs (and profits) we could think of, the dome came out significantly cheaper.

Hmm. The CEO makes 10x what the workers do. I suspect there wasn't a hard time "finding the required crew" for that position.

He may also bankrupt America by enforcing his will based on the military and tariffs

US debt is $38 Trillion
US federal income is $5.2 Trillion
Yearly upkeep of US military $900 billion
Massive state, civic, and personal debts

Tariffs are paid by US import customers

As an observer from another country I am confused as to why Americans have continued methods of resistance that don't seem to work.

Where is the attack on Mara Lago? Where is the attack on Trump tower? Where is the attack on Republican sycophants?

I applaud his style, it creates a feeling of peace.

It makes me wince, however, that this is a typical slice of Canada. Big box stores, and corporate logos.

Port Alberni is a logging town. Logging is a process of killing for a living. Creating death for a living will create mental health issues. To ignore this as a community is to live in permanent cognitive dissonance.

So many people ask why this is not considered meat for homeless
January 25, 2026 at 3:03 PM
An excellent idea, the price is too high, though. If it's a success I hope the parks board makes a community version.

You're right, we are.

And as an adjunct, we are all, now, talking behind your back.
January 25, 2026 at 1:10 AM
Wow, now your manipulating other peoples words and opinions so you have something to shit on

I haven't heard ANYONE say they should be quiet. Dude, you're just looking for likes by shitting on people

Your meanness doesn't make anything better anywhere
January 25, 2026 at 1:00 AM
Okeydokey, I looked at them and they're great. Now how do you suppose we accomplish them, by shitting on people?
January 25, 2026 at 12:50 AM
I don't know what you're looking for T. Ryan. It's a lot easier to criticize that come up with solutions.

What's yours?

The thing about concessions creating a tributary is that it's happening to the whole of the Western world at the same time

We kissed the ring for a while, but I think collective strategy is starting to take shape

I wonder if our two nations aren't just too big to be anything more than the leftover of colonies from the point of a gun.

Bioregions are decimated because of head offices 1000s of miles away.

If Alberta separates, I hope to be living in Cascadia.

Is it possible to sell to the US military without selling to other US agencies?
January 25, 2026 at 12:22 AM
Looking forward to the 11th province...

Gee Garth, lets not kick out the US ambassador, let's give him a meeting with a government official once a week to get "Zelenskied" in front of a camera.
January 25, 2026 at 12:15 AM
If it's not made in Canada, it's no longer a "domestic" car.

The US agreement to protect allied countries with the nuclear umbrella is the reason allies don't develop them. With this agreement failing, allied nuclear development seems more likely.
January 24, 2026 at 11:52 PM
I think you're right, Fietser, however after 5 years of this guy the ground swell in the US has merely gone from "thoughts and prayers" to yelling in the street.

We don't have a voice in this, however we're being threatened big time. Your resistance has to risk a lot more before sympathy rises.

Yes, I've lived in the Arctic. Yes, I've seen what their life is like. Have you?

I've also lived in Ottawa. It's not very good, in comparison to Northern Saskatchewan, actually.
January 24, 2026 at 6:05 PM
Well, that's just not true. Vancouver Island is mostly Crown Land, as well as most of BC. Inuit live right at the Northern Edge, and agriculture happens in the Yukon. The tree line goes past 60 degrees latitude.

Please don't just rattle off something from the top of your head
