The thing about the OKC Thunder is, that as a neutral, they absolutely suck to watch.

I just want there to be a Game 7 in the NBA that is worth watching. You have to go back a few years to find one that didn’t completely suck.

Trump & Vance are monsters. Just absolutely shocking to bring one of the leaders of the free world into the Oval Office and dress him down to demand he thank Trump for Trump's greatness, while this actual leader tries to protect capitalistic democracy from Trump's flailing autocratic petrostate boss
ZELENSKYY: Putin broke the ceasefire. What kind of diplomacy, JD, are you speaking about?

VANCE: I think it's disrespectful to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media

I don't think film critics should have to review the Marvel movies anymore. Like, I dunno. Should an art critic have to review those big pictures of tomatoes they hang on the wall at Subway? I think they belong in a different category.

No one could have predicted this!

Just a great job by Nico Harrison and the terrible owners. Thanks for ruining my favorite team.
FROM SHAMS:

Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis is expected to miss multiple weeks with a left adductor strain, sources tell ESPN. His absence could stretch to a month.

Don’t think I’ll ever get over Mark Cuban selling the team to the dumbest, worst people imaginable. Thanks, Mark.
Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont—the son in law of owner Miriam Adelson—gave his first public comments on the Luka trade to the Dallas Morning News

Apparently they have shifted from calling Luka fat to calling Luka lazy

Wonderful article that sums it all up perfectly.

Doesn’t make it any easier to handle.

the mavericks are the dumbest franchise led by a man who just committed malpractice

Why Mavericks' Luka Doncic trade is malpractice, no matter how GM Nico Harrison tries to explain it
The Mavericks are betting big on Luka no longer being the winning player he has proven to be in Dallas

It is so weird when your favorite player ever on your favorite team is the centerpiece of the worst trade of all time. Historically dogshit thing to have happen, feels almost personal. Somehow trying to throw a tomato from my apartment at whoever is responsible for this.

I guess this is what you get when Mark Cuban sells the team to the human cesspool that is the Adelson family.

25 years of being a fan of the Dallas Mavericks. That ended today.

What an absolutely terrible organization.

Lynch… hard to think of someone whose movies have evolved in my mind so much depending on my age, where I am in life, the ambient culture, etc. A filmography much vaster than its small size would suggest.

Apparently, this was too much to ask. Now PJ is hurt with a knee sprain.

This is a lost season, I fear. Not the start to 2025 I was hoping for.
I just want the Mavs to be healthy. Is that too much to ask?

Finally have a very good team, but you just don’t get to see them play. It sucks.

Had to have someone come out and fix our HVAC. The guy was very friendly and helpful. When he left, he gave me a fist bump and said, “Love you, brother!”

Wasn’t expecting that!

Watched Mike Leigh’s NAKED (1993) for the first time last night. David Thewlis delivers an amazing performance as Johnny, one of the most unlikable characters I’ve ever seen on film.

Really don’t know how I feel about the movie overall, though. Going to have to let it sit with me for a while.

Not sure I can handle the Mavs losing to the Spurs without Wemby. Please win, for my mental health if nothing else.

Rewatched PERFECT DAYS (2023) on the Criterion 4K disc. Felt even more impactful now, given the state of things. Good music, good books, and a steady routine can go a long way.

I guess it makes sense that Grimes was unhappy with his playing time. He’s good!

It seems so nice here that I don’t know if I’m allowed to be mad at the Mavs tonight when they’re inevitably down 14-3 in the first quarter.
