Careful, though, as I'm pretty sure it was several groups thinking this same thing that we ended up with Trump as our President...

"Just remember: Never interrupt your enemy when they’re helping you."

pretty much Mamdani's entire debate strategy! I mean, he said great stuff, too, but it was pretty hard not to notice the other candidates seemed to be helping him with their responses, too...

To be fair, they are only going by their personal history--THUS FAR--in fostering those beliefs. I do hope you are correct and this means the winds are shifting--but unfortunately I'm far too cynical to believe the rich ever truly pay for crimes. Not the same way the rest of us riff-raff do.

Impunity is the word.

It is the same impunity that got us Trump. Like Epstein, Trump built a career on a transactional chumminess, mutual self-indulgence, and an alarmingly high tolerance level for misbehavior by the layers of political, business, media, and cultural elites surrounding him.

It was perfectly captured by political scientist Ed Burmila: “The crisis of elite impunity that is ruining our society cannot be more clearly or convincingly demonstrated than with the fact that all of these people wrote all this stuff into an email and hit Send.”

The Texas GOP was probably fine with the Nick Fuentes groyper group bc their biggest billionaire donor shares many of his beliefs.

How is this not clear to anyone saying "chill out." Five alarms, here. My member of Congress today, who is very good, seemed to be on vacay. These times demand action, even when we know people need a break. bsky.app/profile/detr...
Sure, Congress deserves a holiday. Except we are not living in ordinary times. It's Aug. 11. The leader of the "land of the free and the home of the brave" has federalized police control of the nation's capital. This has NEVER happened in US history. My House member has a PDX Pickles vid posted?🥵
