Honestly I haven’t given it much/any thought other than to notice there might be one or two weeks where my team doesn’t look great. It holds a lot of protective value. Certainly won’t be approaching it with a view to ‘take on the template’. Will only play it if I’m objectively confident.

Hence it should’ve been a pen. Really simple imo - VAR cannot grasp what implementing the clear and obvious rule actually means.
Further in line with clear and obvious, as Redknapp pointed out, in terms of ‘the rules’ there was no difference between the Pope touch and the Sanchez touch vs Mbeumo.

Personally agreed with Redknapp that it shouldn’t have been overturned. Gyok kicked the ball slightly on to him but was still wiped out. If you look at the Sanchez red last week it was the exact same thing that happened, so there’s an inconsistency issue too.
